Medicare:

Medicare is a Federal health insurance program that pays for hospital and medical care for elderly and certain disabled Americans. Medicare is a national social insurance program, administered by the U.S. federal government since 1965, that guarantees access to health insurance for Americans aged 65 and older and younger people with disabilities.

Medicaid:

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that helps with medical costs for some people with limited income and resourcesMedicaid also offers benefits not normally covered by Medicare, like nursing home care and personal care services.
